UNC’s team colours of white and light blue return to the Air Jordan 3 in this latest colourway dubbed “Lucky Shorts”. For those who don’t know, the nickname is derived from Michael Jordan’s superstitious practice of wearing his UNC shorts underneath his Chicago Bulls shorts, a practice that clearly resulted in his GOAT status.

This AJ3 retells that tale in a relatively minimal package. The nearly all-white leather upper looks extra clean because of the missing elephant print on the toe and heel, which has been replaced by tonal suede. This makes way for “Legend Blue” accents on the eyelets, heel and midsole, plus a lighter shade of blue behind the tongue. Here, a size and wash tag is sewn in place of the usual Jordan variety – a clear nod to those lucky UNC shorts.
